Cannabis stocks were marked up for month-end, leaving the index up 2.5% in October, the first positive month in 2015. 42% of the 38 stocks tracked here rose in price, with 5 double-digit percentage gainers and 3 double-digit percentage losers. Stocks with volume above the 30-day average rose from 32% to 37%, with two stocks trading over $5mm in value. Three of the ten highest dollar-volume stocks rose in price as three traded above $1mm. The 420 Investor Marijuana Index increased from 43.2 from 45.3, reflecting a decline of 65.3% so far in 2015. The index began 2013 at 100, 2014 at 159, and 2015 at 130.7, and it peaked last March at 1010 after bottoming in August 2013 near 70.
Stocks moving more than 5% on more than $500k in volume included Hemp, Inc. (HEMP) to the upside and Medbox (MDBX) to the downside.
