Cannabis stocks fell sharply today and are now down 3% in September. 28% of the 39 stocks tracked here rose in price, with 1 double-digit percentage gainer and 7 double-digit percentage losers. Stocks with volume above the 30-day average rose from 31% to 36%, with two stocks trading over $5mm in value. Two of the ten highest dollar-volume stocks rose in price as three traded above $1mm. Benzinga's 420 Marijuana Index is estimated to have decreased from 48.4 from 46.7, reflecting a decline of 64.3% so far in 2015. The index began 2013 at 100, 2014 at 159, and 2015 at 130.7, and it peaked last March at 1010 after bottoming in August 2013 near 70.
Stocks moving more than 5% on more than $500k in volume included none to the upside and Medbox (MDBX) and Insys Therapeutics (INSY) to the downside.
